Welcome to Bertolotti Desserts

Lower in fat and fuller in flavor than its American counterpart, gelato (Italian style ice cream) was first invented in Sicily.

Its first appearance outside of Italy came with the opening of Cafe Procope in Paris in the 1660's.

Since then gelato has become the predominant style of ice cream served in Europe and South America.

Of course Bertolotti insisted that their gelato be made in the original Artigianale-style rather than the modern industrial style.

Artigianale gelato is richer in both texture and taste and yet it contains only half the fat content of American ice creams.
